Granola Girl Granola Bars

I'm not a "granola" girl by any means, but I love my healthy food almost as much as I love cookies! I have been making these "Playgroup Granola Bars" for a few months because my hubby LOVES them, and they're less expensive than buying them pre-made! Here are the tweaks I've made:

Change 3/4 C Brown Sugar ---> 3/4 C Strawberry Preserves
Change 3/4 C Raisins ---> 1 C Dried Cranberries
Change 1 C Flour ---> 1 C Rice Flour (supposedly it's better for you?)
Add 1/2 C Unsalted Whole Almonds
Remove Salt
Remove Oil

They have just enough sweetness with the added bonus of almonds (protein), cranberries (vitamin C) & wheat germ (folic acid). I have to say, they turned out pretty tasty!

I've been toying with the idea of creating a blog for all my cooking/baking adventures, and I decided today to just do it!

My hesitancy stems from the fact that I am one of those people who sees someone else's idea & says "ooh, I can do that! I think it might work this way too..." I am not trying to take credit for other people's fabulous recipes, but instead to offer tweaks & my personal opinion of what works for me in the kitchen. I am a simple girl, married to an amazing man, living on the Central Coast of California. I like food, and I want to share my kitchen experiences.
